In Exodus 17 we witness the children of Israel grumbling and complaining about their lack for water. God, of course, supplies all they need after Moses cries out to God and then acts in faithful obedience. God often uses physical demonstrations to highlight spiritual truths, and in this case we explore God as the fountain of living waters. God is the provision for Israel in every way, suppling all needs physically and spiritually.
